For the rare operator who can read a P&ID, own a boardroom, and close a $10M project frame agreement — all in the same week.
The Opportunity
Our client is an Australian subsidiary of a globally respected manufacturer of valves, actuators and flow control solutions. Operating across oil & gas, mining, water, power and industrial processing, their product portfolio spans butterfly valves, ball valves, knife gate valves, check valves and sophisticated actuation and control systems engineered to perform where failure is not an option.
This newly elevated national role sits at the apex of the organisation's commercial operation in Australia. You will be responsible for identifying, pursuing and converting major projects across the full product portfolio — leading engagement with Tier 1 EPCs, national strategic accounts and global frame agreement partners — with a 2–4 year forward planning horizon and the full weight of a globally backed organisation behind every proposal.
This is not a transactional sales role. It is an enterprise-level commercial leadership position for someone who understands that the best projects are won 18 months before they go to tender — and who has the technical depth, the stakeholder presence and the strategic patience to make that happen.
The Platform
Global Product Depth
Butterfly, ball, knife gate and check valves. Electric, pneumatic and hydraulic actuation. ASME, ANSI and API compliant solutions across the full spectrum of industrial and resources applications.
Enterprise Reach
National and global frame agreements with Tier 1 EPCs and major end users. You'll work across state teams, product management and global project pursuit to win business at a scale most sales roles never touch.
Forward Pipeline
Early engagement and medium-term project identification — 2 to 4 years out. The projects you spec today become the bookings that define next year's performance. Strategic, not reactive.
What You'll Lead
Who You Are
You are technically fluent in valve and actuation applications — butterfly, ball, knife gate, check valves, electric and pneumatic actuators — and you carry that knowledge with authority in front of engineers, procurement leaders and project directors. You know the ASME, ANSI and API standards well enough to have a real conversation, not just drop the acronyms.
You have built and managed high-value EPC relationships before. You understand the rhythm of major project sales — the long lead times, the specification battles, the frame agreement negotiations — and you have the patience and commercial intelligence to play the long game without losing urgency.
Ideally you hold a mechanical, chemical or industrial engineering degree, or you've built the equivalent through 10+ years of applied technical sales experience at a senior level in the flow control, valve or industrial process sector.
You came up through engineering, applications or technical sales. You can read a P&ID, specify the right valve for a slurry line, and explain actuation torque requirements to a project engineer without notes. Customers trust you because you actually understand their problem.
You think in pipeline, not transactions. You've built national account relationships, driven specification campaigns across multiple projects simultaneously, and you understand that the most valuable work happens long before a purchase order is raised. You want a mandate that matches your capability.
This is a role that rarely comes to market — a genuinely national mandate, backed by a globally respected product, with the commercial scale to make a $170–200K base feel like the starting point rather than the ceiling. If you have spent the last decade building the technical and commercial credentials to operate at this level, this is the role that was built for you.
